Umbraco MVP Awards

Every year, we honor the hardworking pillars of the Umbraco Community, known as MVPs or Most Valuable People.

We are humbled by the amount of work you put into Umbraco, including but not limited to:

  • The forum
  • Pull requests
  • Documentation
  • Packages
  • New and inspiring community initiatives
  • Community events and more

Submitting an application

The MVP submission process now has two main parts: a motivated submission, and registration of activity.

Motivated submission

Would-be MVPs must make a motivated submission detailing why they think they have earned the title of MVP.

As part of this submission, nominees are encouraged to include:

  •  Consideration of their passion, friendliness, and inspiration as a member of the Community
  • their proudest moments from the last year
  • how you feel being an MVP would impact both yourself and the wider community.

Activity

In addition to this, people should submit records of activities they have done throughout the year, which substantiate and support the application.

Examples of activities

  • Writing an article for 24 Days or Skrift
  • Creating an Umbraco package
  • Giving a talk about Umbraco (at a meetup, festival, or any event)
  • Helping organise an event
  • Creating a video about Umbraco
  • Speaking on a podcast about Umbraco
  • Submitting a PR
  • Being active and helpful on Twitter or Discord

Did you know you can nominate someone to be an MVP?

If you know someone in the Umbraco Community who isn't already an MVP, but is making valuable contributions which you find helpful and inspiring, you can nominate them for an MVP Award. We will let them know they have been nominated and invite them to complete an MVP Submission.
